There’s nothing like new swimsuits and bikinis arriving in store to signify the beginning of a new swimwear season. Last year, we were lucky to receive swimsuits from the 2009 swimwear range by Sauvage before the season had really begun - a little pre-taste for our dedicated shoppers here at Azura Swimwear. But as the year progresses, and summer approaches once again, we’ll be seeing more beautiful designer swimsuits gracing our collection and from a whole range of incredible swimwear designers.
This year, the first to make its debut in Azura Swimwear’s catalogue is none other than Beach Bunny Swimwear. Beach Bunny typically releases their collection slowly over a couple of months - a swimsuit tease in many ways! But it certainly whets the appetite for their sexy chic range of one piece swimsuits and bikinis.
This month, we’ve selected the Crocodile Rock bikini out of their new 2009 swimwear range to bring in store. Take a look and you’ll agree - it’s a great way to begin the swimwear year!
Undoubtedly, we’ll be featuring this sexy bikini in our Bikini of the Week series shortly, but I just wanted to quickly point out a couple of the Crocodile Rock’s highlights…
First up, check out the gold embellished crocodile skin motif. This year, it’s all about reptile inspiration and along with Sauvage Swimwear and their sexy Snake Skin bikini(featured last week on Bikini of the Week), Beach Bunny is leading the pack with this sexy swimsuit rendition.
Secondly, take a look at the deep brown color of the fabric. Brown is this year’s it color and you’ll be seeing it in all the hottest designer swimwear collections this season (take a look at Chocolate Suede by Sauvage Swimwear).
Lastly, did you notice the bling? 2009 swimwear is decked out in gold, from gold fleck fabrics to metal chain detailing.
There will be more beautiful designer swimwear arriving in store shortly, so make sure to stay tuned! Until then, happy shopping!
Wow, the New Year has been going off with the new range of designer swimsuits from Sauvage Swimwear! And while we’ve seen the favorites shift throughout the 2009 Sauvage Swimwear range, this week, it’s been all about Snakeskin.
Personally, I’ve always been a fan of animal prints - and I’m not the only one. There’s good reason why, year after year, you’ll see animal prints dotting the collections of swimwear designers far and wide - they’re simply hot. Because of this, animal prints, on bikinis and one piece swimsuits, are pretty much timeless. True, like any print or design, the style will change slightly, but with animal prints, I think you’ll find less of this and an animal print bikini you’ll have from a year or two ago will still be as hot now as it was then.
But let’s look at the 2009 Sauvage Swimwear rendition of this popular motif…
This year, Sauvage Swimwear’s ever-brilliant designer Elizabeth Southwood has choosen the snake for her jungle-esque inspiration and placed it in a sexy bandeau bikini. The snake skin print alone would have made this a knockout swimsuit, however the addition of gold, found in both the gold sequin detailing and etched gold rings, gives this sexy bikini an added edge - high rolling glamour. I love it!
One of the best things about bandeau bikini tops is that they’re great for tanning - no unsightly strap marks. However, if you’re after a bit of extra support, Snakeskin by Sauvage Swimwear also comes with removable straps as well as boned sides. Both the bikini top and bottoms are fully lined and, like all Sauvage swimsuit originals, are made from beautiful imported Italian nylon-lycra. And speaking of the bikini bottoms, you can wear the Snakeskin bikini bottoms comfortably but still look sexy - they’re low rise at the front and have moderate coverage at the back, but they sit perfectly and don’t slip - something difficult to find in other designer swimwear ranges and a testament to Sauvage Swimwear’s solid designs.
If you’re an animal print lover, or looking for your first Snakeskin print to add to your collection, then we highly recommend the Snakeskin bikini by Sauvage for jungle sex appeal and glamour rolled into one…. It’s sssssssizzlingly sexy!
Just a quick note to wish you all a Happy New Year! We hope that you all had a wonderful Christmas and holiday season…

With our end-of-season Designer Swimwear Sale on right now, it’s been hard to take our minds away from all the incredible designer swimsuits we have for such a great price. And while I’d love to feature one of the beautiful new swimsuits from the 2009 range of Sauvage and Beach Bunny that’s recently arrived here at Azura, I still just can’t go past our 2008 swimwear collection…
It’s been all about Sauvage Swimwear these last couple of weeks here at Bikini of the Week, and this week is no different with the stunning Jade Mountain bikini, our pick of the week.
I love the simplicity of this swimsuit; it’s simply striking. First off, there’s the color - a mix of turquoise and emerald green, the swimsuit looks like a jewel itself. You can tell why this swimsuit doesn’t have any intricate or extravagant detailing - it doesn’t need it. The color alone is enough to grab and hold your attention.
But, speaking of detailing, the large rings made of distressed gold are the perfect match for both the cut and color of this bikini. The gold sets off the green to a tee, again like a gold ring encasing an emerald jewel, while the ring shape gives the swimsuit a bit more interest, showing off just a hint of flesh at the center bust and at the bikini bottom sides.
Ring detailing works amazingly with bandeau cut bikinis. This year’s hottest swimwear designers definitely thought so with the style featuring heavily throughout the different designer swimwear collections. Sauvage Swimwear’s rendition with the Jade Mountain was perhaps one of the best versions, the rings not too large as well as being shaped at the bikini bottom sides to fit the curve of the body which is particularly important when it comes to comfort.
The bandeau bikini top also has a point of difference, tapering in at the back so the look is slim and dainty. The sides are also lined with boning for extra support, which can be incredibly handy with bandeau style bikinis. As for the bikini bottoms, these will give you full backside coverage as well as full coverage at the front.
Like all our 2008 swimsuits, Jade Mountain by Sauvage is currently 25% off as part of our Designer Swimwear Sale. It’s a beautiful swimsuit and also timeless too, so don’t miss out…
We’re going back to back Sauvage Swimwear here at Bikini of the Week. But while last week saw us look at one of last year’s quiet achievers, the sexy black bikini Chains, this week we’re looking at a hot new swimsuit number from the 2009 Sauvage Swimwear range, Chocolate Suede.
Chocolate Suede: the name alone is sexy. But it’s the sight of this bikini that will truly have you drooling. Similarly to Chains, Chocolate Suede comes decked in metal detailing, but here the look is hot and heavy with thick, gold link chains. Luckily, the quality of the detailing, as with all Sauvage swimsuits, is premium, so while the chains are durable and sturdy, they’re also lightweight and comfortable - a must for any bikini. In fact, the detailing on the bikini bottoms also includes an additional piece of material, added for comfort and support.
For me, the gold link chain detailing spells sophistication - with a touch of rock ‘n’ roll flair! Beach Bunny Swimwear is very good at this look, but with Chocolate Suede, Sauvage Swimwear is certainly giving them a run for their swimsuit money! This season, we’re going to be seeing a lot of chocolate browns - not just from Sauvage, but from all the major boutique designer swimwear labels. The Chocolate Suede by Sauvage however, would have to be the quintessential example. I might have said this simply because I love the Sauvage version. However, having already seen many, if not all, of the other designer swimwear collections, I mean it definitively.
More than a chocolate brown, the Chocolate Suede is toned and textured, giving the bikini fabric character and body. Also, at a distance, the visual appeal of the bikini is different to what it is up close, again adding character and unique charm to the swimsuit.
Another added benefit of the brown bikini is its ability to look clean longer and its difficulty to stain. I for one tend to dirty my clothes easily and while I’m an absolute fan of white bikinis, it’s refreshing not to have to worry about it so much.
The Chocolate Suede bikini by Sauavge comes in a halter style top that includes removable pads for extra support and string ties at the neck and back. The pads are useful also for a more flattering look at the bust. The bikini bottoms are low rise at the front, but provide moderate coverage at the front. Personally, I love the degree of coverage you’ll find in most Sauvage bikinis - not too little, but also, not too much.
Chocolate Suede is pretty much hot off the factory floor, as are all the new designer swimsuits by Sauvage. But whether you’re after a beautiful number from last year’s swimwear season, or ready for something new from this year’s range, Sauvage is always a safe yet seriously stunning option.
