Kenya by Red Carter
It surprises me that we have not yet featured this bikini in Bikini of the Week. I don’t know how it was overlooked – I think we all thought it had already been featured! But as I was reading Continental Girl’s post on purchasing designer swimwear, filled with tips about this season’s hot styles, and in particular, animal prints, I thought of Red Carter’s Kenya. I then quickly skipped over to Lifestyle Azura to double check if we had featured it or not, and to my great surprise, it was nowhere to be found!
So better late than never, this week’s Bikini of the Week is Kenya by Red Carter.
Red Carter is the champion of fine details – whether it be in the quality of his suits, the style of his cuts or the added detailing he uses. Usually, it’s all of the above, and his Kenya bikini is no different.
It’s hard to go past an animal print, and no matter how many decades come and go, animal prints will always have their place in fashion. Red Carter actually has two animal prints out this season – the Kenya and the Zimbabwe, both as beautiful as each other, so really this week should be a ‘Bikinis of the Week’ rather than just ‘Bikini’! But as I personally love the black and white appeal of the zebra, I pulled out my card and voted for the Kenya…
While you probably can’t tell from the image, one of the best things about this sexy swimsuit is the intricate detailing embroidered on to the top of the material. There are actually little black sequins accenting the black of the zebra print giving the bikini a sexy shimmer and unique appeal. And how can we go past the gorgeous gold rings at the center bust and on the bikini sides? They’ve been a hot design feature this season, and Red Carter has used them here to great effect – curved at the sides (unlike some of the more inferior swimwear brands), the rings do not dig in. If used correctly, as they are here, rings can be more flattering to your hips than a standard bikini bottom; used incorrectly, and the results can be disastrous to your shape.
The bikini top comes in a bandeau style with ties at the neck and back for a more secure fit and better shape at the bust. And if you like your swimsuits sexy but prefer the fuller bum, then Red Carter’s Kenya bikini is for you – it’s low rise but with greater coverage at the back.
So our apologies once again for not having featured the Kenya bikini by Red Carter sooner! But as one of the season’s hottest sellers, it seems Red Carter, and you, have been doing just fine!
